Started his career as faculty of Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, in the Department of Economics from 1991 and retired as Professor & Head, Department of Environmental Management in 2019. He was in charge of offices in different capacities as Registrar of Bharathidasan University, Director of BSM (Bharathidasan School of Management), member of Syndicate and Senate, to cite a few. Besides, he had the honour of being the founder Professor & Head, Department of Environmental Management and founder Director of Bharathidasan University Entrepreneurship Innovation and Career Hub (BECH). Additionally, he had served as Director of Centre for Distance Education Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. He has published numerous scholarly articles, reviews and research papers and supervised 14 Ph.D candidates successfully. He has undertaken 4 major research projects funded by UGC and the World Bank and authored 5 books, so far. He is the recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Fellowship under the Indo American Environment Leadership Program (IAELP) for the year 2004-2005. He visited the United States during 2004 as Fellow in the Department of Economics, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan. Before joining Tiruchy Public School (TPS) as one of the Directors, he served as Registrar of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, Tiruchirappalli from June 2021 to July 2023.
